Last revolutionary therapy against aging and
cutaneous relaxation by using fibroblasts
To freeze youth, that is the subject of the last therapeutic
border for preventing and treating tissue aging that was crossed
by Prof. Michele L. Zocchi.
The new future methodology for
prevention and treatment of aging and cutaneous relaxation,
especially in the face, was proposed by Prof. Michele Zocchi,
the international famous plastic surgeon and pioneer in the
research of regenerative medicine and undifferentiated fat
stem cells in adults .
This revolutionary therapy is nowadays available for all Italian
patients thanks to the active scientific collaboration between
Professor Zocchi’s group and the Bioscience Institute
of San Marino, which is the leading European facility in this
field.
The procedure is easy and safe: the surgeon takes a small sample
of skin (3mm²) behind the ear, which is an anatomic zone
protected from irradiation of sunlight, and sends it to the
Cell Factory of the Bioscience Institute of San Marino. The
small fragment will be analyzed in the laboratories in order
to isolate the fibroblasts, which are the collagen producing
cells, the hyaluronic acid and the elastin. A part of the cells
will be frozen and preserved in liquid nitrogen at -198° C
and be stored in a bank of tissue in order to be used later
and to permit also treatments using “young” cells
after several years. The cryo-preserved cells can be amplified
innumerable times for the following treatments of cutaneous
rejuvenating and in a few weeks they can reach a very high
concentration. The new fibroblasts will be put in a solution
enriched with complexes of vitamins, amino- acids, minerals,
nucleic acids and co-enzymes and are ready to be injected in
the zones to be treated. Moreover, all the steps in the process
of culturing and reinjection are realized in a very strictly
sterile cycle and guaranteed by a severe series of test in
order to avoid any risk of infection.
The use of autologous cells, that is cells taken from
the patient himself, excludes any risk of rejection which can
be found when using synthetic products or fillers. These cells
are destined to the synthesis and the metabolism of collagen
which forms the elastic matrix of the skin. During the process
of physiological aging , that is accelerated by degenerating
processes caused by external factors like sunlight (photo-aging)
or oxidative phenomenon (stress and alimentary lack), you will
find a common element which is the depauperation of the collagen
matrix due to the drastic reduction of fibroblastic activity.
The possibility to raise up this scarcity with a consistent
number of young and active fibroblasts – up to 500000
cells per treatment- permits the reconstruction of sufficient
collagen in order to guarantee the recovery of the cutaneous
tone and consequently the attenuation of superficial wrinkles
and all the other slight blemishes related to the aging processes.
