Highly graduated in Medical School of Turin in 1978, he moved first to the United States and then to France for many years, in order to specialize in maxillofacial and plastic and aesthetic surgery. In the meantime he was working as Fellow in the most prestigious Institutes worldwide (U.S.A./ Brazil/ Spain) and passed several post-grade fellowship and exams in aesthetic surgery.

In 1988, he returned to Italy where he focalized his interest on lipoplasty and liposculpture giving an important contribute to research and development of surgical records.
In particular he conceived and got ready new surgical techniques for the production of autologous collagen from adipose tissue in order to treat facial aging and a new and revolutionary methodology – today known all over the world (U.A.L. Ultrasonic Assisted Lipoplasty) – for tridimensional radical treatment of lipodistrophy and obesity using ultrasonic energy inventing and improving the instruments and techniques related to it.

More recently, a new technique of additive mastoplasty was brought to perfection by him using lipotransplantation (bicompartmental breast lipostructuring), today practised worldwide by many Surgeons and so opening new ways for using adipose tissue as source of steminal multipotential cells (ADSC).

He always showed big interest in congress and educational activities and spent a great part of his time teaching and editing more than 150 monographs, books and publications in the most prestigious international magazines in over 40 countries. He is indeed full or honorary member of more than 15 national and international Societies of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery.

Since 1978 he has performed firsthand more than 8000 procedures of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery.
Today, Professor Zocchi is recognized as the highest authority in the world in the field of body contouring surgery.
